Are there any risks replacing the adapter on a shaft?
The shaft manufactures warranty will be void when the original tip is replaced. Additionally, as the origin and history of a shaft is unknown, the condition cannot be determined until the currently installed tip is removed.
We recommend that a tip not be replaced any more than once (being a total of two tips having been installed on any shaft). Each replacement requires the shaft to be heated, prepared, all of which weaken the shaft, increasing the likelihood of failure.
Therefore we require customers to accept a Tip Replacement Disclaimer before proceeding.
How do you measure club length?
We use the USGA / R&A 60º rule when measuring clubs. When building clubs the shaft will be cut at the desired playing length, minus 1/4”. While there is no specific standard for the butt cap length, the finished club should measure very close to the desired length.
Can I request a specific swing weight?
Yes you can. However, ultimately the achievable swing weight will be influenced by the components being used for the build.
Many companies will tell you that a swing weight should feel the same across brands and club models. We disagree, and in fact believe the swing weight measure (alone) is insufficient and misleading. Other factors, like the overall static weight, and balance, of the final build are often more important. For instance we would never recommend adding 20 grams of weight in the butt section simply to achieve a target swing weight.
During initial discussions we will advise if a desired swing weight is likely going to be achievable (or not).
Why is there a ‘convenience fee’ added for Credit / Debit Card and Afterpay payment methods?
Those payment methods charge us a transaction fee. We are trying to offer our customers the very best price on any product or service and cannot also absorb those additional fees. So unfortunately they have to be passed onto the customer for the ‘convenience’ of using those payment facilities.
